Tax Day

Did you remember to file your taxes today?  It's Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley's favorite day of the year.  Money-money-money-money.

Actually, when you really think about it, April 15th has little significance to tax collection.  The government collects taxes all year long.  It's just April 15th when you have to file the claim.  And most people get a refund because they pay too much in taxes throughout the year.  Every year I say the same thing - it's best to owe the government a little money.  That way you're collecting interest (what little of it banks provide).  Otherwise, the government is getting a free loan from you.  Do you really want to loan more money to the government for free?  I didn't think so.
